Homing a Cat
There are many beautiful cats at Foal Farm looking for a good home. We have young, middle aged and elderly adult cats as well as kittens and cats with special needs.
If you would like to home a cat please follow the following steps:
1 Choose a cat
Click on the link opposite to see the cats that are currently available. Alternatively please come and see the cats at the Farm during our opening hours of 1:30 to 4:30pm.
2 Introduction
Once you have chosen a cat, please complete the application form on the right of this page. We will then contact you to make an appointment for an introduction to the cat.
3 Home Visit
If your introduction is successful the office staff will give you the telephone number of two home checkers in your area. You will need to contact them directly and arrange an appointment for them to visit you in your home. If the visit is successful they will complete and sign the application form.
4 Collect your cat
You can now make an appointment to collect your cat by emailing cats@foalfarm.org.uk. Please bring your signed application form with you.
You will also need to pay the fee and any additional charges. All cats that leave Foal Farm have been neutered, treated for fleas and worms, groomed and micro-chipped. Please click the box on the right to download the current cat fees. The fees may be reduced for older or special needs cats. Please enquire about this at your introduction meeting. We accept cash, cheques and credit cards.
Please don't forget to bring a secure cat carrier to take your cat home in. Your chosen cat will be checked over in front of you and you will be given a pack that includes the vaccination certificate, health record plus advice on feeding and anything else of note. You will be able to purchase food and accessories for your new cat in our pet shop at the Farm.
5 Enjoy your cat
Having a cat should be a rewarding and joyful experience. However cats are sensitive and territorial animals and it may take them time to get used to you and their new surroundings. If you have any problems, please read the section called “Top 10 cat tips” or call us at Foal Farm.
