Bringing a Cat to Foal Farm for Re-homing
We understand that circumstances arise which mean you may no longer be able to care for your cat.
Please consider carefully whether you wish to part with your cat. If the reason is a change in the cat's behaviour then please visit or contact your vet as there may be an underlying health problem that is affecting the cat.
If you have a temporary problem at home you may wish to consider boarding your cat or arranging for someone to feed the cat for you.
Please also consult all family members about the decision to re-home the cat as once placed in a new home you will be unable to retrieve the cat.
After considering all options if you would like Foal Farm to re-home your cat please follow our guidelines below:
1 Let us know
Please email us on cats@foalfarm.org.uk or call us and let us know that you would like to bring the cat to us for re-homing. Please provide as much detail as possible about the cat such as age, breed, temperament and family history.
2 Make an appointment to bring the cat to Foal Farm
Unfortunately our cat houses are sometimes full so we may have to put you on a waiting list whilst we find a space for your cat. No cat is every turned away so please be patient. Cats that have been vaccinated may be accepted sooner. Please bring the certificate with you.
3 Bring in the cat
Please bring with you any vaccination certificates or medical history as well as any special dietary requirements.
There is no charge for bringing a cat into Foal Farm but a donation towards the care and re-homing of the cat is greatly appreciated. All cats that arrive at Foal Farm are examined by the vet and given any medical treatment that they need. They are also neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, groomed and treated for worms and fleas. This care is entirely funded by charitable donations so please be generous.
We accept cash, cheques or credit cards or you can click on the button below to donate online.
