Foal Farm are looking for some very special people to join our dedicated hard working team here. You must share our charitable aims and ethos and be prepared to go that extra bit further! Experience is preferred but we will also train the right people.

 

FUNDRAISING AND MARKETING COORDINATOR

Part time position – Office based

3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Core hours 9am-5pm

Reporting to Fundraising Manager

 

General Job Description

To assist with the fundraising and marketing functions at Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre. This will include the following elements:

Fundraising

Working with the Fundraising Manager to carry out the fundraising plan

Identifying and making initial approaches to relevant grant-making trusts & foundations

Helping to coordinate the community fundraising team of volunteers

Coordinate activity with local schools, businesses and religious organisations that support Foal Farm

Approaching new potential corporate donors and supporters

Helping to manage the JustGiving page and various appeals

Helping to coordinate our fundraising events (including Country Festival Day)

Marketing & Communications

Working with the Fundraising Manager to carry out the communications plan

Managing the charity’s Instagram account

Helping to manage the charity’s Facebook page

Assisting with the writing and compiling of the bi-monthly newsletter

Helping to coordinate the charity’s donor journey, especially with regards to our various appeals

Assisting with the design of marketing materials and fundraising materials

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring fundraiser or charity professional who is looking to step up into a role with more responsibility, offering the opportunity to develop and grow.

Person Specification

Preferably Degree educated, but this is not essential

Experience in prior fundraising or marketing role would be an advantage

Able to follow instructions and work under own steam

Able to work with the general public, and under pressure on occassion

Good communication skills are essential

Computer literate and experienced with social media

An understanding of the principles of fundraising

An understanding and empathy with the views and objectives of FOAL

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN AND SUPERVISOR

Full time position – based at Foal Farm

5 days per week

Core hours 9am-5pm

Reporting to Farm Manager

 

General Job Description:

A full time maintenance technician and supervisor position has become available at Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre in Biggin Hill. Foal Farm is a charity that rescues rehabilitates and re-homes animals of all varieties, and we are now recruiting to fill this vacancy.

You will be required to inspect and maintain all aspects of the charities site and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, and be able to plan and priorities requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment

Performing preventative maintenance

Handling basic repairs and maintenance

Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary

Diagnosing all repair issues and correcting them

Organising work schedules for members of the maintenance team

Planning site needs in terms of priority

 

Person Specification:

Proven maintenance experience.

Diploma or maintenance related qualification desirable

Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

Experience performing routine maintenance.

Strong organisational and follow up skills.

Eye for detail.

Professional presentation and attitude.

Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

Strong time management and planning skills.

TREASURER

General Job Description

We are looking for a trustee/treasurer with finance experience to work with the board to monitor the charity’s financial affairs and viability.

 

Person Specification

To be able to attend monthly trustee meetings (Saturdays) in addition to AGM

Knowledge of accounting

Knowledge of VAT and corporation tax

Knowledge of gift aid rules, record keeping and claiming.

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a team

Enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the charities mission, aims and values.

Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship

Strategic vision and good independent judgement

 

Responsibilities

To ensure the organisation complies with charity law and accounting standards

To ensure the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects

To ensure financial reports are provided to Trustees in a timely and easy to understand manner

To keep the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities

To support staff to prepare the budget to present to the Board

To ensure the proper investment of the charity’s funds

To safeguard the good name and values of the organisation

To ensure the financial stability of the organisation

To contribute actively to the board of trustees role in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.
