MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN AND SUPERVISOR
Full time position – based at Foal Farm
5 days per week
Core hours 9am-5pm
Reporting to Farm Manager
General Job Description:
A full time maintenance technician and supervisor position has become available at Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre in Biggin Hill. Foal Farm is a charity that rescues rehabilitates and re-homes animals of all varieties, and we are now recruiting to fill this vacancy.
You will be required to inspect and maintain all aspects of the charities site and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, and be able to plan and priorities requirements.
Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
Performing preventative maintenance
Handling basic repairs and maintenance
Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
Diagnosing all repair issues and correcting them
Organising work schedules for members of the maintenance team
Planning site needs in terms of priority
Proven maintenance experience.
Diploma or maintenance related qualification desirable
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Experience performing routine maintenance.
Strong organisational and follow up skills.
Eye for detail.
Professional presentation and attitude.
Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
Strong time management and planning skills.

General Job Description
We are looking for a trustee/treasurer with finance experience to work with the board to monitor the charity’s financial affairs and viability.
To be able to attend monthly trustee meetings (Saturdays) in addition to AGM
Knowledge of accounting
Knowledge of VAT and corporation tax
Knowledge of gift aid rules, record keeping and claiming.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a team
Enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the charities mission, aims and values.
Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
Strategic vision and good independent judgement
To ensure the organisation complies with charity law and accounting standards
To ensure the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects
To ensure financial reports are provided to Trustees in a timely and easy to understand manner
To keep the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities
To support staff to prepare the budget to present to the Board
To ensure the proper investment of the charity’s funds
To safeguard the good name and values of the organisation
To ensure the financial stability of the organisation
To contribute actively to the board of trustees role in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.
