Name: Arnie
Owner: Colin, Iris, Mark and Amie Smith
Tribute: Arnie Smith We adopted Arnie from Foal Farm way back in 1995 when was about 2 and a half. After visiting the farm we knew straight away he was the one, as he came over, and jumped up us wagging his tail (he picked us!) He was never an angel, but a real loveable character, who loved nothing more than to chase his ball up and down the garden, until we couldn’t throw it anymore! Arnie loved his food and his favourites were chicken, cheese and sausages. And sweets, and doughnuts, and beef! Basically there was nothing he didn’t like. Unfortunately we had to have Arnie put to sleep on 18th February 2009 as he had developed a tumour in his throat and was finding breathing more and more difficult, and couldn’t go on any longer. Arnie will be sadly missed by us his family and all that knew and loved him. Colin, Iris, Mark and Amie Smith

Name: Snowy
Owner: John and Anne Carrigan
Tribute: "We first saw our dear little white fluff ball called Snowy at the Foal Farm open day in July 2008. We had no intention of rescuing a cat in fact it was the furthest thing from our minds but she called to us …. Two weeks later we brought her home. She was beautiful, not only to look at but in spirt too - she was an absolute delight and at 14 (with quite a chequered past) she had every right not to be. We were told she was vocal (one of the reasons why she found herself at Foal Farm), yes she was vocal and what a vocabulary, she could certainly talk in what seemed many languages and that only endeared her to us more. She was so cute when talking to the birds and the squirrels through the glass door. She was also never happier than when she had her nose in her food bowl. When she first came to us she rarely purred and puddied but once she relaxed with us she delighted and entertained us with her antics on her "blanky". Sadly she was only with us for a very short 5 months - she became unwell on Christmas Eve and when we took her to the vets the day after Boxing Day she never came home with us. In such a short time she has left a huge hole in our lives and we are devastated by her loss. We loved her dearly and she will be remembered forever in our hearts. May she be waiting to cross the rainbow bridge with us when our time arrives. A heartfelt thanks to all of you at Foal Farm for being there for her in her hours of need and for allowing her to be a part of our lives."

Name: Cleo
Owner: Foal Farm
Tribute: Cleo was one of our long term resident farm dogs. Many will know her as she roamed the farm with her muzzle and little coat on. She was a dog that suffered from nervous aggression and after an unsuccessful rehoming she was returned and given a new life as a resident Foal Farm dog. She was given an opportunity at Foal to live her life here at the farm when others would have given up on her. Cleo was 12 years 6 months when she had to be put to sleep after our vet found a tumour on her spleen. She will be greatly missed by the staff, animals, volunteers and sponsors of the Farm.

Name: George
Owner: Ken, Penny & Matthew Richardson
Tribute: We adopted George the greyhound when he as about 7 years old from Foal Farm in March 2005, after seeing an article about him in the local paper. It did not take him long to settle in and make himself at home. He used to enjoy his walks both in the woods and fields and on the pavements, always knowing where he wanted to cross the road or which field he wanted to walk around. He made friends with lots of other dogs and their owners. He was very gentle and loving and enjoyed having a good long sleep after his walks. Although we only had him for a short time he was dearly loved and hopefully we gave him a good, comfortable last few years. He passed away on 10th December 2008 and will be greatly missed.

Name: Scoobie
Owner: Julie and Mark Bailey
Tribute: We adopted the adorable Scoobie in the Summer of 2001. Scoobie was approximately 2 years old. From the moment Scoobie came home he was one of the family, a very important loved member of our family. His nature was adorable. He never scratched, clawed hissed and was very affectionate to everyone. He was also very independent, but loved his home comforts too and would sit on my husbands chest every night and have his ears stroked for half an hour then would fall asleep on his chair. Scoobie was such a character and touched everyone he met. Sadly on 22nd of January, we found him sitting in the garden with no movement in his back legs, hysterically we rushed him up to Andersons vet and were told that he had a Saddle Thrombus and probably would not make it to Monday. We got a call the next day saying he had perked up and had amazed the vet and could come home! He was still poorly but with medicine he might have a chance of a few months maybe even years. The whole household was ecstatic, we all rushed to go and get Scoobie, we had the most amazing week with him, and he slept in our beds the whole time as we wanted just to be close to him. Sadly on Sunday 1st Feb he became very ill again and had to be put to sleep. Needless to say we are all absolutely devastated and can't stop crying. Scoobie or Mr Scoobie as we called him was an absolute poppet, we will never get over loosing him, and I have tears in my eyes as I write this. RIP our beautiful little boy, you were so loved. Xxx
