Dogs
- Name: Zash
- Breed: Lurcher
Zash is a male neutered lurcher who came to Foal in December 2005. He was found with another dog tied up to a tree. Unfortunately, although Zash loved the other dog,an older female lurcher, she wouldn't allow Zash to eat his meals, a common problem among pack dogs which have had to scramble and grab for just enough food to survive. Zash was painfully thin and the decision was made to separate them and the female was re-homed.
- Name: Reuben
- Breed: X Breed
Reuben came to us via another rescue centre. After he was assessed by our dog team we think he was used as a guard dog as he has many traits that make him unsuitable for rehoming. He is now looked after at Foal and also part time by a member of staff.
- Name: Pickles
- Breed: Lurcher
Pickles is a handsome brindle and white crossbreed who was abandoned by his original owner. Pickles loves the company of people but would do best in a quiet home where he could bond with just one or two people. He may be able to live with dogs, but like a lot of Lurchers, definitely has to avoid cats and small furry animals! Pickles rarely gets asked about, which is a shame, as once he builds a friendship with you, he is a very sociable and loyal lad!
- Name: Toby
- Breed: SBT X
Toby came to us as a stray and we believe he was kept locked on a balcony. Unfortunately this lead to his temperament being affected and he was deemed unsuitable to be re-homed. He now lives part of the week with a member of staff.
- Name: Alfie
- Breed: Cocker Spaniel
Alfie is a pedigree cocker spaniel, who has been here at FOAL for 4 years. Sadly, he has a congenital defect to his spine which means that he is both bowel & bladder incontinent! Obviously he is unsuitable as a house pet so will spend his days here with us. He was whisked off on a holiday in Northumbria last year where he had a fantastic time exploring the hills and lakes. He will be off to Scotland on a new adventure in May.
