Rabbits Available to Sponsor

  • Name: Big - Wig
  • Breed: Angora x

Bigwig (brown fuzzy bunny) was found abandoned in a shed along with five other rabbits, including Hazel (black fuzzy bunny) and Dandelion (grey Dutch bunny). They were brought into our reception in a plastic container, all were in a terrible state, and very scared of humans. Big-Wig and Hazel are both Angora type crosses which means that they both have very long fur. Long haired rabbits don't exist in the wild for a very good reason, all that hair causes them nothing but problems. We are a team of professional animal carers who try our hardest to maintain their coats but we accept that as soon as the warm weather rolls around they will be sedated at our vets and their coats clipped off. This is done in most non-show long haired rabbits as a method of not only keeping the coat tangle free but also to provide some respite from the heat. For this reason and because of how nervous they are we have decided against trying to rehome these girls and instead they will live here in our Bunny Park and be available for sponsor instead. If you would like to help support these girls, who have faced more upset than any bunny ever should, we would be eternally grateful. It only cost £20 for the entire year and hopefully if enough people find it in their hearts to help these girls their care will be entirely funded by the caring public. Please contact reception on 01959 572 386 if you can help, thank you for taking the time to read this.

  • Name: Fiver
  • Breed: Dutch x

Fiver was found in a shed with another 5 rabbits, they were brought into our reception in a plastic container, all were in a poor state, and scared of humans. We are working to get these rabbits used to human contact again, but this all takes patience and time. If you love rabbits but are not in a position to rehome, how about coming along to FOAL to help with rehabilitating some of our long-termers? If you would be interested in this very worthwhile project please contact Jenny our volunteer coordinator her details can be found on our contacts page. Fiver has proven to be a special case who is making very little recovery from his traumatic past, he is still very grumpy with us humans and other rabbits too. We have tried to pair him with another rabbit for company but he did not take well to her so for now he will be staying a bachelor boy! Fiver is now available for sponsorship, it is always very touching for our team when someone sponsor one of our animals and for these bunnies it is particularly true. If you are horrified by the conditions some rabbits have to suffer then helping to pay for these guys to live in comparative luxury maybe just the thing for you?

  • Name: Smokey
  • Breed: Netherland Dwarf

Smokey has been rehomed twice since coming to FOAL way back in 2007, unfortunately she has ongoing dental issues which has made looking after her tougher than your average bunny. However she is a firm favourite with the staff here and so has become our resident farm rabbit! Not only can we give her the intensive care she needs but she can see our wonderful vet Mark Nelson at the drop of a hat, making FOAL her ideal home! Of course Smokey's vet bills are in their thousands by now and any sponsorship money would make a huge difference, but also it would be nice to offer our girl new and interesting toys to keep her occupied while we search out a new gentleman friend for her! Its scary to think how much money Smokey's care has cost FOAL over the years, but she is a prime example of what FOAL Farm stands for...We will strive to treat an animal in anyway neccesary to provide a decent standard of living, no matter what the cost! This little bundle of fluff has well and truely won our hearts, she is a fantastic bunny to cuddle and your kind donations over the years have enabled us to provide her with the best care possible. Smokey is now up for sponsorship so we can continue to care for her special needs for as long as she needs us...which we hope will be a very long time yet...the alternative is too heartbreaking to contemplate! Thanks for taking the time to read about our special little girl, from the whole small animal team...and of course, Smokey herself! ***UPDATE*** Smokey has now found a new husband! Mr Rabbit is a few months younger than Smokey, he is very friendly just like Smokey and I'm sure we'd all agree with her that he's very handsome too! Mr Rabbit will now be available for sponsorship along with Smokey! No more lonely nights for this girl!
