Cats

We are very grateful to all of you who sponsor our cats and hope that you will continue your invaluable financial support.

Ginseng is around 4yrs old and originally came to us for rehoming as she was not house trained. This problem can normally be resolved by a change of environment but when she moved into her next home she refused to go outside or use her litter tray! She is extremely happy as an outdoor cat and is often to be seen around the kitchen.
Teddy was the victim of a road traffic accident and had to have his tail amputated. This left him without complete bladder control and he often 'overflowed'! This made life for his owners rather difficult as they lived in a flat! He has adapted to life on the Farm exceedingly well and is usually around the tearoom - or anywhere else he can find someone to give him a fuss!
Honey was very timid and frightened when she came to us and this made her extremely aggresive. Due to this it was felt that she was unhomable so was released on the farm. Ironically, since then she has been quite friendly and often accepts a fuss - but she has the potential!! If you like a cat with spirit then maybe she is the one for you to sponsor?

Cleo was a semi-feral kitten brought in as part of a 'job lot' when someone had accumulated over 30 cats by neglecting to have any of them neutered! After many scratches and bites we decided to release her and let her live as she chose - this usually means watching the birds in the aviary!
Ella was on expensive veterinary treatment for liver damage, which her owners could not afford. Apart from a monthly injection she is now fine and spends most of her time asleep in the back of the kitchen.

No one knows where Cherry came from! She avoids human contact as much as possible but did choose to have her kittens in the warmth of the kitchen and they were subsequently rehomed as family pets, Cherry was spayed and then released to live her life as she chose. She stays hidden when the public is around but returns to the kitchen for supper each night, she is most put out if the staff are working late!

Joyce was returned to Foal for being too aggressive with her owners! After spending several months with us without any offers of a home - nor any improvement in her temperament! - she was allowed her freedom and now lives down near the woods - far enough away from too many people but near enough to regular feeds!

You may notice Poppet's ears have had their tips removed. This is due to the fact that she was trapped and spayed as a feral kitten and if she had been returned to the feral colony she would, in the future, be easily identified as having been neutered. We did try to 'tame' her but she shuns human contact so was released as a Farm cat.
Little Poppy was trapped by Cats Protection, with her kittens, in East London. She is virtually wild so normally she would have been put back there after her kittens were weaned and rehomed and she was spayed. She decided she would rather spend her days in Kent than East London!
PK is only a youngster but, sadly, was involved in a road traffic accident. This left her incontinent so she is unsuitable for rehoming. She will live on the farm for the rest of her life - with dedicated staff to wash her bottom as required!
Kiddy was the victim of child abuse! As a result she became aggressive and unhomeable! She has settled down since being free to roam the farm although she prefers the warmth of the office when she is allowed in! Sadly she has got a tumour on her nose but at present she is happy.
